In Mitie we have something called culture architecture – we are all responsible for creating and nurturing our culture and our people are the single, critical element required to make it great.

Our teams fall across all ranges – highly qualified specialist engineers, operations management, front line teams, service desk operatives and plenty of others in between. We understand that the relationship our teams have with their manager is critical in terms of being and feeling supported, building trust, sourcing a path for progression and ensuring timely and meaningful communication flows. We have invested heavily in terms of time and training for our managers and communication to our teams about what they should always expect from their manager.

Share with Sheridan is a communication forum whereby all Mitie staff can directly contact our MD, Les Sheridan, with ideas, feedback or anything else they wish. Les also hosts monthly forums with front line team members to share communications directly, understand what is important to them and their colleagues and arrange his ‘back to the floor’ days.

We look forward to our annual employee engagement surveys as the results from these forms the agenda for our Irish Leadership Team over a 12 month period – focusing directly on making improvements in the areas our teams have highlighted and getting even better at what our staff have said they really like about Mitie.

Our MiRecognition tool, is dedicated to recognising the teams and individuals that go above and beyond for customers or colleagues, it is great to see the exceptional performance of our people being recognised with a MiThanks or a Mitie Star. Every year we have a Charity and Awards Night to celebrate the best Mitie Star of each Year and support different Charity’s. The Long Service Award is another fantastic recognition for all people who are working with Mitie over 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30+ years.

Learning hub

In 2019, Mitie Ireland launched ‘Learning Hub’. This is a dedicated learning platform for colleagues. It contains an extensive library of titles from Active Listening to Writing Reports and covers a wide range of topics from Business Skills to Wellbeing at Work. With videos, audio, games and quizzes available, the content caters different learning preferences.

Further Education Support

Mitie offers an education assistance program that is designed to provide our employees the opportunity for financial reimbursement for specific classes and courses. These specific programs must enhance the skills of the employee in their current or future work related area within the company and must be agreed in advance.

On the job/Onsite training:

At Mitie we believe that an employee who receives the necessary training is more able to perform in their job.  We provided continuous on the job training to all our staff. We believe that this training will give the employee a greater understanding of their responsibilities within their role, expand their skillset and in turn build their confidence.
